Integrate with JupyterLab for code notebook

We want to build something similar with Kaggle Notebook (https://www.kaggle.com/code/scratchpad/notebook1f3cbc3c77/edit) , which is based on JupyterLab: https://jupyter.org/try-jupyter/lab/ . So we also need to integrate with JupyterLab: https://github.com/jupyterlab/jupyterlab

Our "Confita Notebook" based on JupyterLab should store data in Confita. We need to know how to develop it, like forking https://github.com/jupyterlab/jupyterlab and modifying the code?
