Final tasks for GSoC 2014 #24

These are the remaining tasks the GSoC 2014 project.

Coding (deadline: 18.08.)

  • (5) verbs:
    • init
    • update
    • lookup
    • resolve
    • (1) install
    • check
  • dependency resolution for resolve
  • (2) make basic plugins presentable
    • apt
    • homebrew
    • macports
    • pip
    • gem
    • debian
    • ubuntu
    • osx
  • code maintenance:
    • make sure all notes/todos/fixmes are understandable by external readers
    • improve and add docstrings where important
  • unit tests: add some more as time allows (at least some simple tests for each module)
  • integration tests: add some as time allows (at least some very basic "tripwire" tests for each of the high level APIs and commands)

Documentation (deadline: 18.08.)

  • (3) update design document to be up-to-date with all decision; indicate what is implemented and what is not
  • provide a list of concrete todos for 0.1 release
  • (4) basic usage docs

Community work (post 18.08.)

  • email to build system SIG
    • minimal usage example; point out enhancements over rosdep
    • point to design docs; make sure unfamiliar users can get started
    • point to list of action items / concrete todos where volunteers can jump in

Official GSoC

  • evaluation (deadline: 22.08. 19:00 UTC)
  • upload code (possible after 22.08.; deadline: 19.09.)
