First, make sure you added the right permissions to your profile (Look under Web Resources tab in the Profile).

If you wish to add categories for your resources, you can add and manage them under Setup > Dropdowns > Web Resources > Categories.

You can access Web Resources under the Plugins > Web Resources menu. To make it easier for the majority of users, this takes you directly to your dashboard. This location is where you can do all of the other admin functions as well.

To add a new resource, click the '+' icon as you would to create any other item in GLPI.

To view or update resources, you can switch to the Search view using the magnifying class icon.

When creating or modifying a resource, a preview will be shown at the bottom of the form. Some quirks about the preview mode and in general:

  • If you leave the icon field blank and a valid link is entered, you can press the Refresh icon image button to automatically pull an icon from the website specified when possible.
  • When a web URL is detected in the icon field, you must manually refresh the icon by pressing the refresh button next to the preview (It appears on a URL change). This is to avoid updating the image source for every keystroke.
  • When no web URL is detected in the icon field, it is assumed you are trying to use an icon. The icon will try to update on each keystroke since the processing is all client-side. A blank icon means you have an invalid FontAwesome identifier.
  • When the icon field is blank, it defaults to a Chrome icon.
  • Color changes happen in realtime and only work for icons. If you change the color while an image is used, it will still be saved. When you switch to an icon, it will automatically get that color.

Resources:

  • FontAwesome Icons - GLPI comes with only the free version of FontAwesome, so keep that in mind while picking icons.
