Winx/Mingw based Installation
1. Download Mingw setup.exe and follow instruction to install Mingw, proceed with default settings.
2. After Mingw is successfully installed, you can open a mingw msys terminal to check whether mingw works.
3. Run the MinGW installation Manager to install further dependencies whenever required.
4. Following are the dependencies,
mingw-get install mingw-developer-toolkit(command line)
Make sure you have autotools, autoconf, automake, libtool, libltdl, gcc, gcc-c++ installed
mingw-get install msys-base(command line)
mingw-get install mingw32-libpthreadgc(command line)
mingw-get install mingw32-libz(command line)
mingw-get install mingw32-zlib(command line)
5. Download ftp://ftp.unixodbc.org/pub/unixODBC/unixODBC-2.3.2.tar.gz
and make the following changes to the following files in the uniODBC distribution
- uodbc_extras.h (comment line 76 - extern int strncasecmp (const char *s1, const char *s2, int n );)
- include/ini.h (add the below lines before the last #endif
#define EOVERFLOW 139
#define EWOULDBLOCK EAGAIN
)
then "./configure" and "make install" as usual
6. Download the latest source ditsribution from https://code.google.com/p/dlfcn-win32
then "./configure --enable-static=yes --enable-shared=yes" and "make install"
7. Follow instructions at http://go.kblog.us/2009/07/mingw-porting-gnu-regex-to-windows.html
to install libregex in mingw
8. Follow instructions at https://qt-project.org/wiki/Compiling-OpenSSL-with-MinGW
to install openssl libraries and development files in mingw
9. Warning - installing msys regex/openssl libraries would not be useful here as we will be natively building
ffead-cpp on mingw and hence we need mingw compiled libraries
10. Download the latest release tar file and extract it to the location of your choice under msys user home folder.
11. Also included prototype.js in source for AJAX support
12. Go to the ffead-server/Release or ffead-server/Debug depending on whether you need to debug the server code
13. Open terminal and type "make all" and "make build-apps" to build the server and the default applications provided ("make all" will build ffead with all modules enabled)
14. From version 1.8 onwards you can also select modules to build within ffead using the make modules={comma separated module list} all command, for a complete list of modules names please refer Modules, for e.g, to only build modules webservice,binserialize and distocache use the command "make modules=webservice,binserialize,distocache all"
15. This will create the distribution folder named ffead-server inside ffead-server/Release or ffead-server/Debug folders accordingly
16. Type ./server.sh when inside the ffead-server folder to start the application server
17. Some sample default applications are already provided for your reference inside the ffead-server/web folder, the default application is served at urlpath /, the flexApp application at /flexApp and the oauthApp at /oauthApp
18. If you did not already perform "make build-apps", then to compile a given web application shared library go to the ffead-server/web/{default/flexApp/oauthApp/(your_custom_app)}/src/Debug folder and run "make all"
19. Place the generated application shared library inside the ffead-server/Release/ffead-server/lib or ffead-server/Debug/ffead-server/lib folder.
20. Place your custom web applications inside the ffead-server/Release/ffead-server/web folder (Note the application folder name will also be the URL path - application name)
