Add a simple system for tracing messages

Desirable features:

-- it uses unsafePerformIO to print messages to the log

-- it can take in some descriptor describing the logging call, and then the options file can allow you to specify such descriptors (so you have a "logging" option, which has a list of descriptors). So you can turn on and off logging quite selectively.
