There was some discussion of whether we were doing students a disservice by offering both Ubuntu and Centos instead of having them learn about cross-platform patterns. Some consensus that maybe this was maybe better left for later
We should have a Learn Chef summit to address All The Things that could make learning chef easier/better
knife cookbook download is an anti-pattern. Do we even want it in LearnChef? How about renaming to chef cookbook download?
What about introducing databases? SQLServer etc for those who must make such things work? Which DBs to introduce?
How do we get more info about who our typical Chef LearnChef users are? How about adding a 'What kind of user are you?' screen when launching instances to get that info (just 1 question).
The Chef IAC book from Pakt publishing was called out as a good example of learning from problem-solving. Chef Infrastructure Automation Cookbook.
How about introducing cookbooks with mistakes, and letting students fix them?
How do we tier learning between LearnChef/DoChef/SolveChef/MasterChef? Let learners know what are the lesson prerequisites and expected outcomes.
