The project entailed crafting a student-alumni networking app that facilitated seamless connections. It featured real-time chat, enabling students to seek advice from alumni. The app's versatility allowed alumni from various programs to join, fostering an inclusive community. Additionally, alumni could contribute through donations, enhancing the platform's collaborative spirit.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following installed on your system:

• Node.js (v14 or later)
• npm (usually comes with Node.js)
• MongoDB (v4 or later)

Getting Started

1. Clone the Repository:

   Fork and clone this repository to your local machine using the following commands:

   git clone https://github.com/your-username/alumni-network.git
   cd alumni-network

2. Install Dependencies:

   Navigate to the project directory and install the required dependencies for both the server and the React app:

   cd server
   npm install
   
   cd ../client
   npm install

3. Start the Server:

   Open a terminal in the server directory and start the Node.js server:

   cd server
   npm start

4. Start the React App:

   Open another terminal in the client directory and start the React development server:

   cd client
   npm start

5. Access the Website:

   Once the server and React app are both running, open your web browser and visit http://localhost:3000 to see the alumni network website in action.
