MerchantSidekick (MSK) is a fully featured light-weight E-commerce framework for Ruby applications. It's currently used in the following applications:
- coalheadwear.com with authorize.net gateway
- givegoods.org with authorize.net gateway
- kann-ich-klagen.de with paygate gateway
- luleka.com with Paypal gateway
MerchantSidekick includes in- and outbound order management and invoicing, a shopping cart, taxation and payment processing. It integrates with ActiveMerchant for payment processing by default. The plugin can be extended to use any customer payment processors outside the scope of ActiveMerchant.

Provide mechanism for persistent and non-persistent shopping carts. Carts are currently meant to be stored in sessions, which have size constraints, unless they are persisted in the DB.
