Wrap new features in Chipmunk 6.6.6 when that leaves beta and goes into 6.x.x.

per http://chipmunk-physics.net/
December 2011: Chipmunk 6.0.3 Released!

Are you working on this? Would you like some help? I want to try out using just the BBTree stuff without using all of Chipmunk, so wrapping that would make my life easier. ;)

Yes, now I'm a bit short on time for this project as of lately, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Please ask me if anything is not clear or if you need my assistance.

I've hada bit of time to start working on this. In the 6.0.3.0 branch, chipmunk 6.0.3 has been wrapped, and obsolete functionality from the 5.x versions has been removed, but new functionality from the 6.x versions still needs to be wrapped.

That's great. I haven't had time, I recently started playing Minecraft. >.<

Hey, are you still maintaining this? I'm willing to put in the effort of wrapping the 6.1.2 functionality if you are willing to merge the pull request.

Cheers,
Ryan

Sorry, maintaining this has been low priority for me as of lately, but if you make a working pull request I'll merge it certainly. I'll probably even add you as one of the developers on this repository. So, thanks in advance for your efforts. :)

Sounds good. I'm developing a MVC style framework for Ruby and Chipmunk is going to be the default physics engine. So, keeping this gem up to date is definitely a priority =)

@beoran I have a working wrapper for 6.1.3; I think the docs need a once over and the gem needs to be released. I can build the windows gem if needed. @banister added me to the gem, so I can release, but I wanted you to be involved. I can just issue a pull request if you'd like.

Yes, that would be nice. I don't have too much time but I'd like to
keep the docs and the
repository updated.

see pull request #15

Also, I dropped 1.8 support. We can probably get it to work in 1.8x, but I'm not sure it's worth the hassle at this point. It seems like a major revision number is a good time to drop support for 1.8.x

What do you think @beoran ?

I agree, let's drop 1.8.x dupport. 2.0.x is already coming up so it
should be OK.
