I use ♬ or ♪ in my ToDo lists to remind myself that I have additional notes in paper form.
I would like to be able to use have those characters displayed when I open my todo.txt file using jdotxt.

Just for clarity: as I understand, you're asking that tool should be able to display Unicode symbols in task text? Or something else?

At the moment there is no active maintainers of this tool. You'll have to try and find some work-arounds to implement your workflow.

E.g. -- try using some other visual sign instead. E.g. double star ** at the beginning of the note. Tried just now, it works.

Or try to find some other Unicode symbol that works for you. I don't know why, but some Unicode chars are displayed as expected, some others as square boxes-placeholders. You'll have to experiment. Here is the full list of Unicodes: https://unicode-table.com/en/ -- I used this to find some symbols for use in my flow.

Yes. I use Unicode symbols in my task text. For many fonts, I have found the "Miscellaneous Symbols" are well supported with few of the square-box-placeholders. The musical notes are from the 9820 section. https://www.martinstoeckli.ch/fontmap/fontmap.html shows font support for the characters. I don't know what Font jdotxt is using, but I suspect the font does not support many "Miscellaneous Symbols"
