Document Armory Crate SDK Switch #13
Comments
Same thing for me! Aura Connect was not showing up in Synapse. ChromaControl does, but even if I try different effects, all Aura devices keep using the default one. |
Need log files from %localappdata%\Packages\ChromaControl.Asus_846pf09jn2fpg\LocalCache\Local\ChromaControl\logs |
Sure, here it is:
|
So if you look at the devices it found, these are the comon ones for ASUS: ENE_RGB_For_ASUS[X] - RGB ram stick, replace X with the stick number on the MB Your list only shows RGB ram, In other words AURA/Armory Crate is not reporting to Chroma Control that any other devices are available to control. This could be a bad Armory Crate install, device HALs not being installed,. etc. In general it means that the issue lies in AURA/Armory Crate. If Aura/Armory Crate weren't having issues sending device data it would work fine without any code changes/bug fixes on my side. |

@orng-e What is the status of the RGB on your GPU? Is it just off? |
It is either off, stays in one color or goes into rainbow mode. It's just randomized without me selecting anything. Seems to change everytime I reboot. |
Off is an odd thing I have been noticing as well, I have looked into it and everything on the Chroma Control side is working correctly however Aura doesnt seem to actually be making the hardware update its LEDs. Rainbow depends, is it Aura's rainbow or Synapse? If its Aura's then Chroma Control hasnt fully started or Aura is doing something funky. Your logs are telling me that Chroma Control is doing everything its supposed to but AURA is being weird. |
Yeah, at the moment, I only have RGB RAM installed as I'm in the process of upgrading my rig and I've removed pretty much everything RGB while waiting for the new stuff. Still, the effects don't apply to the RAM. I keep seeing the effect that's being generated by Armoury Crate. |
At the very least from what I've noticed is that Synapse hasn't controlled the LED. It's all been on Aura's end. |
You don't have Aura Creator installed correct? If you do please uninstall it. Beyond this, please ensure you have your motherboard bios fully updated (many manufacturers are releasing beta versions for 30 series GPUs as well). The make sure in Chroma Studio that the dots under the Chroma Control module are changing colors. |
Hello! I have been playing around with this quite a bit lately. Very COOL. I ran into this issue for Aura devices, Corsair works fine. |
@mind-overflow Look at the comment above! Forgot to tag you! |
Ill make sure this gets documented, this switch definitely has to be enabled for it to work. Really its a checkbox to allow programs to use the Aura SDK (which ChromaControl does). I didn't even know this switch was a thing, and its always enabled by default for all of my installs. |
Closing, as this is no longer relevant going forward with OpenRGB. |
Hi! First of all, thanks for the hard work.
I couldn't get Aura Connect to work at all, no matter what I did, but with this at least it shows up in my Synapse!
I followed all the instructions, but it does not seem to react to Synapse in any ways.
Not sure what to do next, but I wanted to let you know. I have the 3080 Asus TUF GPU.
