Modern Perl is a powerful, elegant, flexible, and fun programming language. Yet much of the Perl 5 code in the world — even published in books which should know better — fails to show off the language.

Modern Perl, the book, demonstrates how to get the most out of Perl 5. It collects the wisdom and knowledge of Perl masters and explains how the language really works — including the latest features and best practices of Perl 5.10.1 and Perl 5.12.

Onyx Neon Press published the first edition of this book in October 2010; see http://onyxneon.com/books/modern_perl/ for details about purchasing a print edition or downloading an electronic version.
