This is a basketball API that allows users to select 10 random basketball players and view their stats. The API is built using Node.js, Express and MongoDB. The frontend of the application is built using React.
The user can toggle the stats of the players to see various information, such as their height, weight, position, and team. A refresh button is also available which will make a request and fetch 10 new random players to select from.
These instructions will get you a copy of the project up and running on your local machine for development and testing purposes.
You will need to have Node.js and npm installed on your machine. You will also need to set up a MongoDB database.
- Clone the repository to your local machine
git clone https://github.com/your-username/basketball-api.git
- Navigate into the project directory
cd basketball-api
- Install the required dependencies
npm install

Set up a .env file with your own environment variables for the MongoDB URL and PORT.

Start the development server
npm run start
The application will be running on http://localhost:5000
