DNS resolution is a PITA in OpenShift. It would be nice to have a plugin that checks internal DNS resolution from within a pod (maybe running citellus as a pod...) and from the host point of view.

How do we get it from sosreports?

OpenShift Container Platform requires a fully functional DNS server in the environment.
every host of the OCP cluster need to be configured to resolve hostnames from your DNS server.

so, /etc/resolv.conf, dnsmaq running, what is the exactly do you like to check?

I know this blog https://www.redhat.com/en/blog/red-hat-openshift-container-platform-dns-deep-dive-dns-changes-red-hat-openshift-container-platform-36 but we are looking through the sosreports.

We've added internal check for entries in resolv.conf and ping to dns when in live mode to dns configured
