Installing Citus Enterprise Edition, Microsoft SKU
==================================================

These instructions cover obtaining and installing the Microsoft SKU version of
Citus Enterprise edition. After the Microsoft-specific steps, it directs you to
our standard Citus :ref:`production` installation steps.

Here are the high level Microsoft SKU steps we'll be doing in this part of the
guide:

Configure the Citus Enterprise Microsoft repositories
-----------------------------------------------------

This is different from previous Citus Enterprise installation instructions.

Ubuntu/Debian
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

First follow these shared steps and then run the OS version specific
command in one of the sections below.

Install the Citus Enterprise package

IMPORTANT: If upgrading from another Major or Minor Citus version, first
remove the old package

Run the Citus Enterprise setup
------------------------------

Use ``citus-enterprise-pg-11-setup`` when installing for Postgres 11

For upgrades

Follow the instructions in :ref:`upgrading_citus`, starting after the install
of the packages (the next step should be a restart of PostgreSQL)
For fresh installations
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Debian/Ubuntu

sudo pg_conftool 12 main set shared_preload_libraries citus
Continue by following the standard multi-machine Debian/Ubuntu installation.
