What causes 'gh pr create' to use branch name as PR title instead of a commit message?

Normally when I run the commands below gh uses the commit message as PR title.

# Starting from origin/trunk
git checkout -b test
touch fakechange
git add fakechange
git commit -m "commit message"
gh pr create

Without any configuration changes or updates gh is now using the branch name for the PR title default consistently across all repositories on that system. What causes this change and how do I revert back to using the commit message as the PR title default?

What version of gh are you using? We had a regression in v2.44.0 which should have been fixed in v2.44.1.

Thanks you; the version I had was indeed v.244.0 and updating to v2.44.1 fixed the issue. I thought it working yesterday but after double checking I just didn't notice the slight change since in that case the branch name and commit message were almost identical 😅
