AWS Backup as a future-proof solution

AWS announced AWS Backup service which offer at no additional cost (except infrastructure) manage full backup life-cycle ( https://aws.amazon.com/backup/ ).

It's managed lifecycle of AWS AMI as backupf AWS EC2.

What do you think about transition to AWS Backup?

This is a solution that provides better transparency eg. by management panel, easier maintenance (no user-managed Lambda functions), more extensive policies, and also allows you to copy the created AMI to another region.
