Should I use the provided Push Notification file or should I create my own? And how do I get it to work?

you can use your push notification
if you have ios app:

android app:
go to http://console.developers.google.com
1- Create Project.

2- APIs & auth -> API [On] for (Google Cloud Messaging for Android) and (Google Maps Android API v2).

3- if you have eclipse go to (Windows -> Preferences -> Android -> Build) copy SHA1 fingerprint.

4- APIs & auth -> Credentials (Create new key [Android key]) add your SHA1 fingerprint and your project name example:
45:B5:E4:6F:36:AD:0A:98:94:B4:02:66:2B:12:17:F2:56:26:A0:E0;com.cloverstudio.spika

5- Project Number = PUSH_SENDER_ID in /src/com/cloverstudio/spika/utils/Const.java

6- (Key for browser applications-API key) = GCM_API_KEY in spika backend(server) /config/init.php

I read the document and I get it. I have already created my own certificate for push notifications and I placed on server and changed init.php but I am not able to get the chats to happen with instant responses (still have to manually refresh).

I looked through the code and noticed in HUPushNotificationManager.m there is a line 56

serialQueue = dispatch_queue_create(“com.clover-studio.hookup.PushSerialQueue”, NULL);

Should I change this to something local to my server?

you can edit database for reset password or from app (forgot password?)
if you mean (main email when website sent msg to user) edit init.php file.

Hi I’ve installed Spika backend server, created 2 test accounts and have the push tokens for the devices.

For the client, i’ve installed the iOS app Spika from the AppStore, on both my iPhones. I’ve tried chatting and it only refreshes when i click in to the chat. I can’t get the push notifications to work.

For the server, under files, i’m using the Github clone PEM files that you provided. Do i need to make my own PEM files or are those fine?

Please help, thanks in advance for an awesome open source solution :)

Got it to work finally! Found where the code died by turning on debug and modified 1 line on AsyncTaskController.php and my push notifications worked!

@videre could you please explain to us how you did it ? my chat isn't autoreloading , it shows notifications and autoreload only when i type something to the webchat user .

It doesn't auto push'em .

Is the SPika android app only suppose to have the Project Number:inside or am I missing something?
