MPC-HC options > Playback > Output

If you are using Windows 10/11 and the renderer is running in DirectX 11 mode, then you should also adjust the hardware decoder to DirectX11 (D3D11):
MPC-HC options > Internal Filters > Video Decoder > Hardware decoder to use = D3D11
