This release brings several enhancements, and quite some legacy cleanup. Most notably:

  • The videos use the native video elements of browsers now, so VideoJS is gone. While that is a great library, keeping up to date was a maintenance nightmare, and the native browser controls are now pretty mature.
  • The call builder is now optionally shown in a page data tab above the content editor for easier insertion of videos.
  • The call builder is now able to parse existing plugin calls, for easier editing of those.
  • schema.org structured data markup is now automatically generated for each video.
  • The video folders are no longer configurable; the files are expected in userfiles/ instead.
  • Support for CMSimple_XH < 1.7.0 and PHP 7.1.0 has been removed.

Diese Version bringt mehrere Verbesserungen und einige Legacy-Bereinigungen. Allen voran:

  • Die Videos verwenden jetzt die nativen Videoelemente von Browsern, sodass VideoJS nicht mehr verwendet wird. Obwohl dies eine großartige Bibliothek ist, war es ein Albtraum, auf dem neuesten Stand zu bleiben, und die nativen Browsersteuerelemente sind jetzt ziemlich ausgereift.
