What i did from my side was updating sherpa 2.2.8 on top of this PR.

@SiewYan is there any validation outcome from the integration of this version into CMSSW_11_0_0_pre9?

@fabiocos , the last i checked there was only release validation on 10_6_4. I guess the relval for 11_0_0_pre9/10 is still on going. Thanks for checking
