I'm missing a command to switch the current playlist (remotely).

I would create a PR if this feature is really missing and could be implemented :)

If you mean the currently playing playlist then you can simply switch to view 3 and then win-sel-cur.

I mean a rather arbitrary one, maybe like :pl- activate myplaylistname.
