Python3: Alternative for python-urlgrabber

python-urlgrabber won't be ported to Python3 and I'm thinking about the alternatives. The Fedora Python 3 Porting Database suggests pycurl. But there is also requests. Do you have any preferences here?

We would like to try something else instead. Since urlgrabber is used at various places in SUSE code, we've decided to work on a Python 3 port instead: rpm-software-management/urlgrabber#8

It needs to be portable across distros, requests is readily available on all platforms

For what it's worth, urlgrabber 4.x is Python 3 compatible.
