Currently entrys in the Journal are named after their commandline names, but it might be a good idea to name them after their human names instead.

So:

  • cockpit-ws -> Cockpit Web Server
  • NetworkManager -> Network Manager
  • setroubleshoot -> SELinux Troubleshooter

etc. Is this possible?

mvollmer: What comes to mind is that we could use the description of the systemd unit from _SYSTEMD_UNIT, but they might be very long.

I propose we stick with the current identifier, and rely on the "details" view of a journal entry to give more friendly information.
