Mitigation is rather simple here, the issue was that rewards aren’t paid out when staking while frozen and the mitigation simply does payout rewards while frozen.
There aren’t any significant code changes here. There doesn’t seem to be any harmful effect (besides allowing another action to be carried out during a freeze, but that’s a tradeoff done to mitigate the issue).
