Thank you to everyone who came out to help make the inaugural St. Pete National Day of Civic Hacking so much fun and so productive!

Congratulations to winning projects

  • LandPop - Have a say in the places that pop up around you

  • Sunshine Family Connection - Creating a strong, comprehensive, easy to use dashboard for users of community services

  • Call St. Pete - No better way to find your way around the city than by talking to those who love it

Top winners, the LandPop project team, were awarded some one on one with St. Pete Greenhouse to further develop their project, as well as some nice swag from Malwarebytes and GitHub, some gift cards, and an awesome trophy (and it really was awesome, for a hacked together trophy!)

Runner up projects will continue to be developed as well, and Call St. Pete is active now, if you want to give it a try:http://callstpete.com

Full event wrap up will be online at the Code for Tampa Bay website in the next few days. You can see photos at our MeetUp page: MeetUp.com/Code-for-Tampa-Bay-Brigade

White House NDCH Request

The White House has invited Code for America to send NDCH reports from participating Brigades, describing projects developed at National Day events, along with any relevant links, a team photo and team contact. If your St. Pete National Day of Civic Hacking team would like to be included in our Code for Tampa Bay Brigade report to Code for America, please complete this form:http://goo.gl/forms/Jqsrp9j2eiuN4v2W2 by June 10. We already have team photos, which we'll include with each project report we receive.

Don’t forget to post your project data to the Code for Tampa Bay GitHub group, so we can include that info in our report. Several folks were sent invitations Saturday, that just need to be activated. If you’re not in the group yet, apply for an invite here:http://goo.gl/forms/W3HDvP0nfc1CKgde2

Thank you to our Sponsors!

Abundant gratitude to our great St. Pete NDCH event sponsors and partners, including St. Pete Greenhouse, Malwarebytes, McDonalds, our amazing venue and program host, the Iron Yard Tampa Bay, and Eureka! Factory. We couldn’t have done it without everyone!

Stay Connected!

You can Hack for Change year round with Code for Tampa Bay Brigade. Our next meetup is Monday, June 6 at 6pm at the HIVE Community Innovation Center at the John F. Germany Public Library in downtown Tampa.

On tap for Monday: A post-NDCH review of both St. Pete and Tampa events, opportunities to get help where needed to continue developing projects and a look at some of the other ideas that came out of our weekend events, including quarterly min-hackathons, special guests, and workshops, starting a 2nd Code for Tampa Bay meetup in St. Pete, and more! We'll have snacks and refreshments. Brown bag a dinner if you’d like. RSVP athttp://www.meetup.com/Code-for-Tampa-Bay-Brigade/events/231664344/

Cheers, and keep making a difference!
