Spearman correlations are used in simple regression as it is more robust than Pearson's correlation, and it is sensitive to non-linear relationships. However, we ommitted the partial analogue of the Spearman correlation from multiple regression, as it wasn't clear if the partial version is also more robust than the Pearson's partial correlation. Is this the case? Are there resources clearing this up?
