Welcome to the DotL Development Wiki!

Defence of the Legends is a community created League of Legends mod for Dota 2

What is community created?

Community created means that the content for this mod will be sourced as much as possible from community work. Content should be created by the community to continually improve the mod over time. With permission from the content creators, I hope Riot uses the contents showcased in this mod in their own game.

How does contribution work?

Contributing to this mod will work as a do-ocracy, ie. it will be your own decision and choice to work on it, I will not assign you jobs to do as this ends in complaining that someone isn't doing something assigned to them. Instead, if you wish to do something, state you are doing so in the wiki and start work. Content will be credited on contribution and not while it is in development. Hopefully, this will seem fair to everyone. But, please, let it be known that you are working on something so that people can collaborate and or people won't do things that have already been done!

Please try to work in teams rather than solo, especially those in the art area. If a champion's animations and sound effects etc, are mismatched, the gameplay of the champion will plummet with the dissonance this creates. I urge you to form teams on your own accord.

Content Creators

###Map Makers There are many maps in League of Lulz, Howling Abyss, Crystal Scar, Twisted Treeline, etc. If you want to start work on any of them, please feel free to do so. If you have a map idea, feel free to contribute. Maps of acceptable quality will be pushed out with the mod on the workshop. Please try to work together rather than individually, I'd rather have "Team Treeline" and "Team Scar" rather than "Dudebro's Treeline" and "MrFace's Treeline".

###Programmers The mod consists of many aspects of programming. Champion abilities, items, map mechanics, etc. If you want to help in programming, see programming style guides (which hopefully will be added soon) and what needs to be done and proceed at your own pace.

###Modellers and Animators If Riot gives the okay, we can import their assets into the mod. If not, placeholder models will be used with different textures. Once a model and animation set is created, the placeholder can then be replaced with your work. When creating models for champions, try to aim for Riot's official splash art rather than fan art.

###Sound Design Ability sounds effects, ambient noises etc.

###Music Champion Select, In Game, Victory, Defeat, Death, Baron fight, if you can imagine it, it will probably have a place in the mod.

###Voice Acting As with modellers and animators, placeholders until available. Try to keep to the character and try to be diverse with how they sound. A good example of what I don't want to aim for is what Slardar, Beastmaster, Old Necrolyte, the Shop Keeper and Antimage sound like (the same).

###Artists Splash arts get out of date, ability icons are all too small for Dota 2, textures need replacing. Loading art is also nice. If you want to contribute, feel free to submit your works.
