What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load 30 spectra (.mgf)
2. Stablished different parameters (fixed modifications - carboxymethyl,
variable modifications - oxidation M, phosphorylation Ser, Thr, Tyr)
3. Results didn't show but .out files were generated

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see peptides for each ms.ms spectra. All 30 spectra run well but at
the end all boxes were empty and a message appeared (An error occured. If the
problem persists, please contact developers)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DeNovo Gui v1.3.7
Mac OS X 10.7.5

Please provide any additional information below.

Thanks for telling us about this issue.

Can you send us the DeNovoGUI log file? Just reopen DeNovoGUI and on the Help
menu choose Bug Report. With this information we will hopefully be able to
locate the problem.

From your bug report I see the following message: "DirecTag_Windows.exe: cannot
execute binary file", i.e., DeNovoGUI tries to run the Windows version of
DirecTag, which of course fails given that you are running this on a Mac.

And now I see that we have only included the Windows version of DirecTag in
DeNovoGUI. I see that there is a Linux version available, which should
hopefully work on Mac as well. We'll try to add this and release a new version
as soon as possible.

In the mean time you can run PepNovo by itself, as there we have included
support for Windows, Linux and Mac.

A quick update. I've been in touch with the DirecTag developers, and at the
moment there is no official Mac version available for DirecTag. They are
however now considering this and a Mac version will hopefully be available soon.

In the mean time I'll release DeNovoGUI v1.4.0 where DirecTag is simply
disabled for Mac. That should remove the issue of the tool crashing even if
PepNovo runs successfully. As this was the main issue reported I hope it is ok
that I close this issue.

Please let us know if you come across other issues.
