What challenge are you facing?

The new pipeline listing in Concourse 4 is hard to use because of the following reasons:

  • The full pipeline names are not shown, because the font size is so large. User has to hover over the pipeline name to see the full name.
  • The pipelines are listed side-by-side, which makes the list harder to read. The list would be faster to read with one pipeline per line.

Currently we are not upgrading from Concourse 3 to Concourse 4 because of this issue.

What would make this better?

Ability to list pipelines with pipeline names in smaller font, one pipeline per line, similarly to the pipeline side menu in Concourse 3.

Are you interested in implementing this yourself?

Don't have enough technical knowledge of the GUI side to implement this by myself.

If you goal is to be able to quickly search for a given pipeline, then with 4.x it is actually easier to do. The dashboard is the default landing page and the search can be passed as an URL, see for example https://ci.concourse-ci.org/?search=ima

The new search functionality is great, but unfortunately it is not available in HD mode.

Some of our pipeline names are quite long and it would be really great if we could somehow set the font size of the pipeline name to be 12px, which it was in version 3 side menu.
