I have been working with open source software and public administration in my spare time for some time and have found Consul and OpenSlides that I think could work well together.
Why is this Needed?
To be able to make local initiatives really become something, like do-foss (do-foss-de) in Dortmund, Germany - only faster and also really.
Description
Type: Feature
So that the people's projects are actually discussed with the responsible departments of the city administration, as long as a set number of something is reached.
Preconditions: The municipality uses Consul as a digital platform for public participation and OpenSlides for organizing its meetings.
If there were an integration between Consul and OpenSlides, it could perhaps be programmed that a successfully passed resolution would be placed on the agenda of the next meeting of the responsible body.
Current Behavior
None.
Expected Behavior
A project that can be recognised as a "majority request" (depending on local legal circumstances) is placed on the agenda of the respective OpenSlides instance in the event (from OpenSlides v4 onwards) as an item for the next meeting.
Definition of Done
A request that fulfils the requirements is transferred to the OpenSlides instance and event.
