MusicPath

Aims to be a linked data wiki of the community music scene. Made out of Scala, Step, Scardf, Jena, RDF, OWL, and SPARQL-y things on the graph db (triple store) TDB.

Brainstorming wiki (Research leading up to this. Ideas, related projects, background, etc)
http://wiki.pdxhub.org/pdx_music_map/

Please, contribute ideas, modeling, UI suggestions!
Where should this go, what should it be used for?

Written in Scala using:
Dependencies:
Step (minimalist web framework inspired by Sinatra)
 http://github.com/alandipert/step

 Scardf (DSL wrapper for Jena)
 http://code.google.com/p/scardf

To get started:
* Install SBT if you don't have it already (see http://code.google.com/p/simple-build-tool/wiki/Setup ; essentially it just says to make a script to save typing "java -jar sbt.jar" all the time.)
git clone http://github.com/alandipert/step.git
git clone http://github.com/LeifW/scardf.git
git clone http://github.com/LeifW/MusicPath.git

cd step
sbt publish-local (this will compile and put step as a library in your .ivy2 directory, to be automatically pulled in as a dependency of musicpath)

Repeat the above with scardf.

cd MusicPath
sbt
update (to pull in the listed dependencies)
jetty-run
Ta-da!
It should compile and fire up a web server on port 8080.
Run "test" in sbt to run some tests.
The main source starts in src/main/scala/org/musicpath/MusicPath.scala
When you start hacking, running something like ~compile, ~test, or ~prepare-webapp are useful commands in sbt - any time a file is saved, they'll recompile, test, or restart the running webapp.
