One of the biggest reasons why dependencies cause issues in general is that library authors specify too tight of a range for their dependencies when they don't need to. There is no reason to specify an exact version unless you are sure that anything below that version is not going to work properly.

Changes

  • Specify more general versions for lib dependencies(client, lang, spl).
  • Reorder dependencies alphabetically.
  • Add `avm` to the workspace.
  • Update docker solana-cli version to 1.16.0.
  • Specify minimum versions for solana crates to be 1.13.
  • Specify minimum borsh version to be 0.9.
  • anchor-client still had solana-client = "1.14.7", updated to >=1.13, <1.17 like the rest of the solana dependencies.
  • Run cargo update.

    Currently when running 'anchor deploy --program-name <name> --program-keypair <specified keypair>' the cli still uses the auto-generated keypair when fetching the program id to add to the IDL metadata at the end. It should instead use the address from the specified keypair.
