Currently the Exoscale FCOS images are very out of date:

~ # exo compute instance-template list | grep -i coreos
| dde12e2f-0fc0-4d89-b4e8-07d97ce5a966 | Linux Fedora CoreOS 34 64-bit | fedora coreos | 2021-11-03 16:12:46 +0000 UTC |
| deb2e531-65d9-481e-b1ac-7130a8812125 | Linux Fedora CoreOS 33 64-bit | fedora coreos | 2021-03-29 13:52:40 +0000 UTC |
| fff4c97b-9703-46b9-b313-d9ed87a81ce6 | Linux CoreOS 2135 64-bit | coreos | 2019-08-06 08:47:35 +0000 UTC |

We need to figure out how to work with them to keep these images up to date.

If we're not able to do that in a timely manner we should probably try to convince them to drop the images until we can.

@llambiel I.e. it's automated now so that it won't go out of date, or was that just a one time bump?

It's great that Exoscale is automatically importing FCOS images. Would you or someone else be able to join the community meeting next week to hash out the details? Some discussion points:

  • establishing a point/method of contact for collaboration
  • having templates based on the streams instead of Fedora versions
  • CI testing
  • documentation

Hey @jlebon sorry I could have provided more details here. We have introduced a monthly templates update process since quite some time now, including FCOS.

Happy to join one of your meetings to provide more information.
