The Spinout Clinic helps transition Cornell Tech founders into the startup community. The Spinout Clinic is open to Startup Studio teams, Runway Postdocs, Faculty startups, Foundry team members, and Cornell Tech alumni startup founders.

Throughout the year at Cornell Tech, startups are founded by students, alumni, faculty, postdocs, and founders-in-residence. Some of these startups are conceived in Startup Studio, some accelerated in Runway, some stemmed from faculty research, and some are extracurricular or side projects. Whatever their origins, during the Spring semester, these teams are invited to join a community of Cornell Tech Founders in the Spinout Clinic. These founders are dedicated to launching technology startups in the near-term and supporting other Cornell Tech founders who expect to travel similar entrepreneurial paths.

During the clinic, founders gain access to ready-to-use resources that help founders navigate current decisions. Sessions consist of a round table discussion that dives deep into founders’ real-time concerns and decisions. The discussion is led by a Cornell Tech facilitator and industry practitioners. The round table discussion is followed by Action Sessions, where practitioners that have very specific experience are invited to work with teams one-on-one to execute next steps (i.e. legal entity formation, Startup Award application prep, fundraising, etc.).
