Currently CARE rates the consciousness level of a patient as:

  • Alert

  • Drowsy

  • Stuporous

  • Comatose

  • Cannot be assessed

  • Update this to the following

  • Unresponsive

  • Responds to pain

  • Responds to voice

  • Alert

  • Agitated or confused

  • New onset of agitation and confusion

  • Migrate existing data as follows

  • "Cannot be assessed"- delete this data

  • "Comatose" - change to "Unresponsive"

  • "Drowsy"- change to "Responds to voice"

  • "Stuporous"- change to "Responds to pain"

  • Once PR is merged, remove the blocked label from MEWS #6433
