Try to fix a bucket load of pylint issues as a new version of pylint seems to warn us about:
C0209: Formatting a regular string which could be a f-string (consider-using-f-string)

Try to address as many as we can, and disable the linter for the harder/more complex ones.

Looks good, quite the fall out from that pylint update (it's likely to affect some of my projects as well)! I have put in a few suggestions for some of the smaller ones that I felt would work OK with f-strings also.

My eyes are not trained to read this, but looks like you got @sillyfrog that seems to know this to review.
I have tried to read thru it and have have not found anything to really improve on.

Don't worry @NiKiZe you're not alone. I'm Ol' Skoolz too. These new idioms are not natural and foreign to me too.

/me shakes fist at the linter. Get off my lawn!

FYI, the changes mentioned above have now been included in the new v2.8.0 release of the library.
