Tested Windows versions

The following overview contains a list of Windows versions that have currently been tested with WIM-Backup.

Note: These tests are a kind of "Smoke Tests" (backup/restore). The results were neither examined in detail nor observed over a longer period of time or otherwise subjected to in-depth evaluation tests. The results are therefore without any guarantee.

Creating a Bootable Medium (Rufus)

The following figure illustrates the steps necessary for the preparatory creation of a Win-PE-based, bootable USB medium that is to contain the deployable WIM-Backup.

Note: The program shown here is the Rufus program as an example. This can be downloaded from the following URL: Rufus on GitHub

Of course, any other tool can be used to create the required bootable media, e.g. Ventoy on GitHub.
