An easy approach would be to use the BetterBib(La)TeX look-up feature.

I would love to access my group libraries with citr. Is there an easy workaround to do so?

A requirement for this to be done via Better Bib(La)TeX plugin was added to a recent release. I hope to find the time add support for this within the next few weeks.
