Yes. I think Focal is a good choice. I made sure, the most common Ubuntu-based distros don't depend on any older version. So reasonably recent versions are supported:

Just updates the build JDK. No new language features are used yet.
PPA build was tricky, but successful (can be tested via cryptomator-beta PPA, build
1.6.15-3999-0ppa1
).
