Polis

Shell script to install a Polis Masternode on a Linux server running Ubuntu 16.04 or 18.04.
This will require a VPS, I use Vultr. The $5/mo server size will suffice.
This script will install Polis v1.7.0.

Installation:

Log into the server using ssh (Putty for windows or terminal for Mac users) and run the following commands:

wget -q https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cryptosharks131/Polis/master/polis_install.sh
bash polis_install.sh

Desktop wallet setup

After the MN is up and running, you need to configure the desktop wallet accordingly. Here are the steps for Windows Wallet

  1. Open the Polis Core Wallet
  2. Go to RECEIVE and create a New Address: MN1
  3. Send 1000 Polis to MN1
  4. Wait for 15 confirmations
  5. Register your MN - follow this video from the Polis team for help with the registration process https://www.polispayserver.com/page/video/4/
  6. Once you make the registration, wait for it to confirm on the transactions tab
  7. You should see your MN appear as 'Enabled' on the Masternodes tab with the 'My masternodes only' checked

Usage:

polis-cli getinfo
polis-cli masternode status
polis-cli mnsync status

Also, if you want to check/start/stop Polis , run one of the following commands as root:

systemctl status Polis #To check the service is running.
systemctl start Polis #To start Polis service.
systemctl stop Polis #To stop Polis service.
systemctl is-enabled Polis #To check whetether Polis service is enabled on boot or not.

Updating Polis

The first line (rm polis_update.sh) is not required the very first time you update the node and will return an error if you run it. This is fine, continue with the update script.

rm polis_update.sh*
wget -q https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cryptosharks131/Polis/master/polis_update.sh
bash polis_update.sh

Import Polis Bootstrap

The first line (rm bootstrap.sh) is not required the very first time you update the node and will return an error if you run it. This is fine, continue with the update script.

rm bootstrap.sh*
wget -q https://raw.githubusercontent.com/cryptosharks131/Polis/master/bootstrap.sh
