Password reset does not work correctly

The email is sent, and when clicking the link you are taken to a page to reset the PW, however after filling in the form to reset the password it errors with

Invalid username or password
Failed to update your password. Please check the email address and validation key are correct and verify the new password matches.

It looks like the key is not stored against the customer record so it can't match it.

hmmm, I can't seem to replicate this on my fresh install, but can on an upgraded one. doing more testing..

hmm, can't replicate it at all now. whatever was causing the issue seems to have stopped.
