This is necessary to do #20, and is needed to do the wca id part of #53.

I think it would make sense to show the status of this (and have an option to kick off a download and import) as part of the proposed site admin dashboard #35

Just a note about this: we may need to only import the following things for #20:

  • best individual results (not all of them); this is what CubingUSA does.
  • current records

Smart, yeah. What about people who have competed for multiple countries? Is there anything tricky there that would require having all the results?

Since we aren't creating competitor history / profiles, and don't much care about competitor history, I wouldn't think so.

I meant to ask: in order to do regional records correctly, do you need to keep track of all the results ever (to handle trickiness from competitors who switch countries)?

I don't think so.

Just checking - is this implemented, or a wontfix? If it is implemented, can you reference a commit, othwise I made a 'wontfix' label.

The plan is to handle this via a hypothetical new WCA api. See #20 and https://github.com/cubing/ccm/milestone/6.
