VIET Events Reborn is the reboot of the Events module from the Vanilla Events, Immersion, and Traits mod I created over six years ago before I retired three years back. It includes many new flavor events that add immersion and a diversity of experiences to your playthroughs.
I've learned much over the years I've been away from CKII, and the reboot has some new features, events, and general improvements not seen in the original such as game rules to disable the sillier events for those who don't like them, as well as performance tweaks (mostly courtesy of WTWSMS and LI mod teams).
At the moment, the reboot does not include all of the original events. To not overwhelm myself, what I want to do is slowly add the old events in batches so I can fix, tweak, or remove them as I see fit, while also adding in new events for variety.
I will not be rebooting Immersion or Traits at this time, though my Immersion Packs are a spiritual successor to VIET Immersion.
Mod is compatible with pretty much everything since it doesn’t touch any vanilla files. Technically it’s even compatible with massive overhauls, but I’d exercise caution playing with those.
Please feel free to use my work in your mods, all I ask is that I and my old VIET partner Ordep are credited. If you want to use something that I borrowed from someone else, please see the credits section below.

- Game rules to disable sillier events for those who don't like them, with three levels to choose from: Balanced (Default), Serious (Restricted), and All Events (Full)

- Plenty of new event pictures, including cultural and religious variants of vanilla event pictures
- Performance tweaks and miscellaneous improvements over the old VIET Events (many courtesy of the WTWSMS, LI, and Hide Your Jewelry mod teams)
- Compatibility with almost everything since it doesn’t touch any vanilla files

DO NOT manually download the master branch unless you know what you're doing as it is the WIP version that is constantly being updated!
- Go to https://github.com/cybrxkhan/VIET-Events-Reborn/releases and find the latest version you wish to download.
- Extract the .zip file to Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod
- Launch CKII and select VIET Events to install in the mod tab.
- Enjoy and play!
NOTE: If you are re-installing a mod, delete the old version of the mod first!
