This release contains new functionality and bug fixes.

Bug Fixes

  • Errors in files should no longer cause Obsidian to hang. The errors will be reported in the output log that is visible in the import progress modal instead.
  • The error reporting in the output log has been given better explanations where possible.

New:

Added support for labels from Google Keep

  • These will be applied as tags.
  • You can change the text they're prepended with in the settings.

Added support for character remapping

Some characters aren't valid for use in filenames on various systems.

  • By default, characters will be remapped if used in filenames, to valid characters on any system.
  • The settings panel allows you to change this remapping to suit only a specific platform.
  • The settings panel allows you to customise the mapping also.

This initial release of Google Keep Import allows the import of Google Keep Takeout backups into Obsidian. It can also be used to import other files that Obsidian supports directly.
