Pokémon Emerald DX is an enhanced version of the classic GBA adventure, seeking to provide a satisfying blend of mechanical improvements while remaining true to the original game. With upgraded art, quality of life improvements, and some new mechanics, you'll get to experience the Hoenn region in a brand new light!
- Gotta Catch 'Em All: Updated encounters and events mean it is possible to obtain all Pokémon in a single playthrough.
- Following Pokemon: Explore Hoenn together with your Pokémon partners.
- Day & Night Cycles: More than just a cosmetic change! Some Pokémon may only be found at certain times of day.
- Character art has been upgraded to GEN IV style, with a brand new May sprite commissioned for this game.
- Battle Backgrounds now feature environment art
- Fairy Type: The Fairy type has been added, along with a few new moves to support the type.
- Physical & Special Split: Moves have been re-categorized by Physical and Special attacks, based on modern classifications.
- Pokemon that were given stat boosts in X&Y and SuMo have had their stats upgraded to match.
- EXP Share is now a Key Item that can be toggled On/Off, and works across your party.
- EXP is granted when a Pokémon is captured.
- TMs can be used infinitely.
- Fishing has been adjusted to not require a buttom prompt to reel-in (FRLG style).
- Badge Boosts have been removed.
- Vitamins now increase your Pokémon IVs (+3) instead of your EVs.
- Supplements have been introduced that decrease IVs (-3).
- A few additional evolutions and Pokemon have been added, bringing Emerald's dex count to an even 400 available Pokemon!
- Find a MOVE DELETER and special shops at the POKEMON LEAGUE SERVICES, located on the 2nd floor of every PokeCenter.
- A 6th floor has been added to Lilycove's Department Store.
- A Dojo has been added to Slateport City. Challenge the pupils of the STAT MASTERS to EV train your Pokemon.
- Various NPCs will provide different items or gift Pokemon daily.
- Brief cameos from some of your favorite Kanto charaters.
- All Trade Evolution Pokemon now have item-based evolutions as well!
- National Dex is given out from the start.
- EVs can be gained at level 100.
- Gain more than 1 Premier Ball when purchasing balls in increments of 10.
- You can now surf at faster speeds, just like with running shoes.
- IVs and EVs are viewable on the summary screen
- Repels prompt you for re-use when they run out
- Hidden Power attributes (Base Power, Type) are now accurately displayed in summary screens & battle.
- Move Tutors can be reused
- TMs have been replaced with other items in PICKUP's tables, and Trainer Tower now gives out rare items instead of repeat TMs.
- Secret Power is now an HM. Dazzling Gleam replaces it as a TM.
