Same here, I get a Google error screen with "This browser or app may not be secure. Learn more
Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can refresh your screen and try again to sign in."

The problem is that Google has done away with the "less secure apps" option in its authentication workflow. This app must be updated with Oauth 2.0. Unless the developer does that, the app won't work.

This repo seems abandoned. There's a whole pile of forks:

But as of today, none of them seem to be updated yet, either. If you try this one, you get farther, but will see the error on sign-in:
