I have tried to transcode several videos from DVD and in several different formats, but nothing seems to work. No audio on computer or on television on playback. Any ideas what the issue could be?

It's possible the audio on the DVDs is not supported. The GStreamer DVD
elements are not all that great - I'd try running with arista-gtk -v in a
terminal and seeing if there are any errors, otherwise file a bug with
GStreamer's Bugzilla here: http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/bugs/

I will try that, I finall got a very weak audio on the computer playback, but I am trying to stream on my wdtv live hub and that is not working, and if this is because of the type of audio, it will be the first thing that it will not decode.
Thanks.
