This is the research repository for the CHI 2020 Paper: "HiveFive: Immersion Preserving Attention Guidance in Virtual Reality" This repository contains the assets / prefabs for rebuilding our biological and non-biological swarms.

- Import the project
- Launch the scene "HiveFive"
- The scene has no cameras, so switch back to the scene view
- If the swarms are not visible, double click on "BiologicalSwarm" or "NonBiologicalSwarm"
- Use the two SwarmManagers to change parameters
- To move the swarms you have to change the positions of the SwarmManagers
For our biological swarm, we use an excerpt of Ob4.txt from the following data source: Sinhuber, M. et al. Figshare https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.7336193.v2 (2018)
The data was published as part of the following publication: Sinhuber, M. et al. The Subnational Human Development Database. Sci. Data. 6:190036 https://doi.org/10.1038/sdata.2019.36 (2019).
To use other data, the text file "BiologicalSwarmTimeSeries.txt" in the root directory must be modified accordingly.
