Slow performance of log window

Description of issue

When the log window becomes filled (more and more) it is performing slower and slower. This is most probably related to the feature that the latest log entry is prepended to the other events at the top.

While this in itself is useful, the impact it has on functionality is undesirable.

There is a checkbox to have a rolling 100 entry log. Take a look at Settings->Display->Misc. You can also turn off logging entirely.
